Covid-19 (Novel Coronavirus)
In view of the current situation I have unfortunately had to take the decision to suspend face to face appointments at this time. We all need to follow the advice on physically distancing (from people other than household members) and to take this seriously. Our choices and actions today will impact on the care available to critically ill people in the coming weeks. These people may be our friends, colleagues, neighbours or family. There are only so many NHS beds and so many staff. If we spread the virus further (and we may be asymptomatic carriers) then we will make this situation worse.
Unfortunately physiotherapy and acupuncture treatment does not enable physically distancing. At the current time my focus needs to be on my NHS role and supporting colleagues there to restructure and prepare. But I plan to offer ‘phone and video support in the coming weeks and more details will follow.
Carolyn started her private practice 2009. Her specialist areas are pelvic physiotherapy and medical acupuncture.
Carolyn has been a specialist physio in Pelvic and Women’s Health since 2005. Her special interests are antenatal, postnatal (including the MummyMOT), pelvic floor problems, pain and difficulties with sex and exercise promotion.
She trained in medical acupuncture in 2003 and has since had considerable postgraduate training, most recently with the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS). Treatment is from a Western Medical perspective, using acupuncture to influence the nervous system and help with musculoskeletal pain, hormonal issues and persistent pain.
